Wildlife Weekend Walk & Talk 2016

Walk & Talk

Our “Walk and Talk” event took place on Saturday 16th July 2016.

Departing from the Bird and Bush public house on Hancock Drive, Luton at 11:15 am, a small group of seven set off on a circular walk to Lilley and back. The weather was warm and humid with blue sky, sunshine and some cloud. Fortunately there was a much needed cooling breeze.

Our gentle stroll took us from Bradgers Hill up to White Hill and then down to Lilley, where our group stopped for a refreshing drink in the rear beer garden of the Lilley Arms public house, Lilley. Suitably refreshed our group set off for the return leg of our journey.

On the return, our Web Officer introduced the group to Geocaching as an outdoor activity. For those of you who have not heard of the activity before, it is effectively a treasure hunt using a GPS devices (most often these days a GPS enabled smart phone) where you hunt for containers hidden by others. Scott was delighted to find two caches that had coincidentally been hidden along our route, one of which had been concealed in a hollowed out branch!

Everyone chatted with each other as we walked, till eventually we reached the end of our journey.

It was a pleasant walk that was enjoyed by all.
