Birds of Bradgers Hill Talk & Walk 2016

Our monthly meeting on Wednesday 11th May 2016 was an enjoyable experience with a talk by bird expert Andy Grimsey. Nineteen people turned up for the meeting with Andy taking us all on a short walk along the edge of Bradgers Hill and out towards Warden Hill.

Andy discussed at length the differences in bird song between different species, pointing out the calls of Sparrows, Blackbirds, Pigeons and Sky Larks amongst others and discussed the many different species that we could expect to see on the hill.

You can see a handy table that Andy prepared that lists the birds that you could encounter in the area here!

Trevor Tween also imparted a little history of the local farms and whilst we were walking the group were fortunate to see two muntjac deer running together and pausing in a glade.

It was an enjoyable evening and a prelude to our Dawn Chorus Walk which started at 5am on Saturday 14th May 2016 from outside the Bushmead Community Centre, Hancock Drive, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU2 7SF.

If you can’t make the event, don’t worry. Andy will be back with another Bird Talk in 2017.

Why not find an event that interests you and come along!
